To be honest, I didn’t come into the game as a BTS fan since it has been a very long time since I have actively listened  to K-Pop, though my friend later gave me a quick rundown of all members. I came into the newest creation of Aeon Dream Studios as a fan of their older work and the interest their summary of the story piqued for me. It needs to be said that the art doesn’t fail and it even look more realistic than the art within MDSOA. Each character has a unique color and design that makes them unique, but also reflects back on the person that they are based off of. The backgrounds also do a good job contrasting each other, as the desert wasteland doesn’t hold a comparison to the background art to the city. The GUI has a polished look, especially since the team only created the game in 2 weeks!

Evren is heading towards Olympia City when she suddenly crosses paths with some bandits. At the same time, she meets a group of young men and they help each other against the group of bandits, as the young men introduce themselves as Zero, Four, and Nine. While, they don’t seem to have the best first time interactions, they end up meeting again as she enters the group as well. There are still a lot of members to the group that are missing, but one has to question whether the Evren’s naive point-of-view of Olympia will change as she realizes the truth that hides beneath it.

All the members that have been shown of P.H.A.N.T.A.S.M. have very unique personalities and some don’t mesh well with the Evren’s so far, so it will be interesting to see how that changes as they have to work together. However, there is still a lot of potential team dynamics missing since some of the group is not there yet. There is a lot of mystery and several concepts in play within the game, so it would be nice to see just how they develop within a full game because it has the potential for a drama and angst along the way, especially as Evren gets used to their new line work.

It helps to be a BTS fan while playing the game, but I just found myself enjoying it for the character interactions and the potential stories that can come with the full game. Aeon Dream Studios seems to be working on a 2nd part of the demo, but show them some support it you want to see a full version of this game!
