The main character is extremely supportive of Mitsunari and is very caring about him and his well-being. She is very hardworking and is always trying to better herself in order to better help Mitsunari. Due to being a commoner, she doesn’t have the same set of manners that most people in the castle do, but she has a different perspective that helps both Mitsunari and the Toyotomi clan from time to time in the story. Yet, at times, she worries about not being good enough for Mitsunari or truly being able to help and support him when he needs him.

Ishida Mitsunari is the kind-hearted but rather distant vassal of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. He believes in bringing peace to the land, but through negotiations rather than through war, unlike most of the other samurai tend to believe. He tends to lean more towards academics and is always studying up on ideas and strategies, this makes him a quick thinker and planner which leads Hideyoshi to place him as the main accountant of the castle’s and provenience’s money. He is extremely frugal and tries to make the best of things with as little money possible as a precaution for what may come (and with the intention of looking for the best interests of the common people), which leads to many of the other vassals to look down on him. The route portrays their version of Mitsunari to be weaker than other samurai, like Kiyomasa, and having the desire to be “stronger” in a physical sense in order to protect those things that are important to him, which he comes to learn isn’t entirely necessary. However, when needed he steps up and can be a very self-sacrificing individual to protect his loved ones, even if the problem wasn’t something he began.

The main character meets Ishida Mitsunari when she is invited by Hideyoshi to help with the festivities surrounding Oda Nobunaga’s castle. With Hideyoshi’s approval, the main character begins to work in the Osaka Castle as a maid, while supporting Mitsunari in his endeavors whenever she can. After the incident in Honnoji, Hideyoshi becomes the next leader after Nobunaga’s death and Mitsunari also finds himself with an elevated status of power, to the disapproval of Kato Kiyomasa and the military faction of the clan. The main character continues to support until an incident with the Tokugawa forces Hideyoshi to step down as the head of the clan and pick Mitsunari as his successor, to the continued displeasure of Kiyomasa and everyone in his faction. The call for war against the equally powerful Tokugawa leads the military division to begin the Battle of Sekigahara, which leads to their quick defeat and the capture of Mitsunari by the Tokugawa forces. However, instead of being sentenced to death, Mitsunari is able to become a teacher under Ieyasu’s request and finally be together with the main character in relative peace.

The most important supporting characters in this route are Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Kato Kiyomasa. Hideyoshi is important to the story because he brings the main character and Mitsunari together and supports them throughout the time he is within the story. Kato Kiyomasa is important because of the opposing philosophy he has compared to Mitsunari when it comes to the unification of Japan and the sort of rivalry that they have during the latter half of the story. Naoe Kanetsugu is also important because of the friendship and support that he provides Mitsunari when he faces a difficult problem. The theme of the story might be that a person shouldn’t give up because growth is always possible, as shown with the gradual development of both Mitsunari and the main character.

Mitsunari has a sweet story of him and the main character coming together after years of slowly supporting and learning about each other, even during the turbulent times. However, there are giant skip within the years that might cause a bit of confusion for the player.
